What is a CUB?

Cub Scouts is for boys and girls aged between 8 and 11 years.

There is a variety of fun activities that entertain and teach the youth the basic skills of life including bush craft and how to react in emergencies.

The meetings are full of games, craft, activities and teaching ensuring an all round developmental path for youth of this age under the guidance of trained leaders. The games are important as they are carefully devised to encourage teamwork and sharing.

Cub Scouts meet at Hazelbrook Scout Hall, 70 Railway Parade, Hazelbrook on Monday nights from 6.30 pm until 8:00 pm.

The small team of Cub Scout Leaders have particular Scouting names that are derived from Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Traditionally, the leader of all Cub Scout sections has been known as Akela. This is also the case at 1st Hazelbrook Scouts.

New Leadership roles are available in Cub Scouts. If you would like to make enquiries about how you can help keep the Cub Scout program innovative and fun for your child and for other children in our community, please contact us.

New members are invited to join at the beginning of each school term.
