What is a JOEY?Joey Scouts is the first section of scouts, for boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years. The emphasis of Joeys is on fun, friendship and a gentle introduction into a world of challenges and adventures through Scouting. There are lots of fun activities that entertain and teach basic motor, craft skills, whilst encouraging communication and co-operation. Joeys is a unique and exciting way for children to learn about the environment, the community and their world while having fun. The meetings can consist of : Craft, Games, Team Activities, Parent Participation Nights Joeys are normally held at the Hazelbrook Scout Hall, 70 Railway Pde Hazelbrook, but some activities such as bush walks are held elsewhere. Hazelbrook has two Joey leaders (Possum and Wombat) and meetings are held on Monday evenings at 5:30 pm and run for an hour. Interested, bring your child along on Monday nights to check out "Joeys" at 1st Hazelbrook Scouts. |
