What is a JOEY?

Joey Scouts is the first section of scouts, for boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years.

The emphasis of Joey Scouts is on fun, friendship and a gentle introduction into a world of challenges and adventures through Scouting.

There are a lot of activities that entertain and teach basic motor skills, whilst encouraging communication and co-operation. Joey Scouts is a unique and exciting way for children to learn about the environment, the community and their world while having fun.

The meetings might include Games, Craft, Team Activities, Singing, Puzzles, Memory Challenges, Bushwalking, Parent participation and occasionally a fun day with other Joey Scouts in the region.

Joeys regularly meet at the 1st Hazelbrook Scout Hall at 70 Railway Parade, Hazelbrook, however, some activities are held elsewhere. All activities away from the hall require parent consent and sufficient additional parental supervision.

Our new Joey Scout Leader has been a Joey Scout herself and is now a member of the Rover Crew at 1st Blaxland.

All parents are expected to spend 2 nights each term supporting the Joey Scout Leader as she learns to meet the needs of your children.

In Term 2, 2012 Joey Scouts is meeting from 5.00 pm – 6.00 pm on Thursdays.

New members are invited to join us at the beginning of each school term.
